There are multiple writers that we now look up to for advice for modern literature today. These include some of the most cherished writers such as William Shakespeare, Edgar Allen Poe, Machiavelli, and last but not least, Charles Dickens. These famous writers have so much popularity in modern society due to their uncomparable, elegant style of creating their treasured literature pieces. The brilliance behind their writing styles and their use of figurative language within their pieces are masterpieces. The writing that is used today was created by using these writers methods of writing.

Due to this, children worldwide are educated about these writers and taught their style and ways of writing so they can be aware of how writing has evolved and what was the foundation for the writing used in modern society. Students are able to understand the purpose for their English class and the amount of writing that is assigned within these classes. Basically, these writers and plenty more have inspired modern society and allowed it to shape their literature.
