The countryside is the place that Pip can undoubtely call home since this is where the majority if not all of his childhood was spent. There are many precious memories that Pip has stored within this place that he can safely call home. It seems in the front of the novel that Pip will spend the rest of his life there as a honest and hard working blacksmith with an abusive sister and his brother in law who he respects but considers as a best friend that is inseperable. However. Pip is whisked away into his own destiny by an anonymous benefactor and placed in an unfamiliar place. Despite this, Pip's ties to his home is indestructable which leads to Pip returning several times whether it is on his own account or not. In the end, Pip moves on in his life and settles down elsewhere, but remains in constant contact with his family here and his birthplace.
